An Example of a Donated Artifact

Small album of autographs housed in the archives.

There are three ways to donate to the Jefferson County Historical Society - money, time and artifacts.

Money - There is no question that it takes money to keep the lights on and the buildings climate controlled so that documents and artifacts are maintained in the proper conditions. Without any annual governmental support, the History Center is critically dependent upon donations, which we gladly accept in any amount. If a check or cash is convenient for you it is also fine with us. Or you can use our secure PayPal connection by clicking on the icon below.

Artifacts - preserving photos, documents and objects is one of the primary functions of the Historical Society. We don't have the money to go out and buy these things. That why it is important for people to donate rather than throw away.

Time - donating your time is also important. In fact we have a whole page devoted to that topic. Click here to check it out.

Remember that the Jefferson County Historical Society is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization so your donation is tax deductible. Whichever way you might like to make a donation - whether money, artifact or time - it will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

We wish to thank the Community Foundation of Madison
and Jefferson County for providing a grant to make
