JoAnne Spiller, Museum Educator

JoAnne Spiller, Museum Educator

JoAnne has been the Museum Educator at JCHS since 2000. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and an Associate’s in Early Childhood Education. A resident of Madison since late 1998, JoAnne grew up in another river town, St. Louis, MO. She is married with two children ages 11 and 13. A member of Delta Kappa Gamma and Tri Kappa Sororities, Joanne also was a former Girl Scout Leader.

In 2007, JoAnne won the Frank and Judy O’Bannon Heritage Preservation Award for work at the museum, including the building of three hands-on displays. In addition to in-school and museum visits, she involves local school children and scout groups in Summer History Camp, Gingerbread House building and ornament making workshops, and the annual Children’s Art Exhibit.
